Get Fighting Strategy You Need Now
You’ll need to have two Mafia Wars bodyguards in your armor list to do the Recruit a Rival Crew Member or the Whack a Rival Crew Leader Capo jobs. And you’ll need four bodyguards to complete Make Arrangements for a Visiting Don and Take Control of a Casino in the Boss tier. So you’ll have to get the Mafia Wars bodyguards somehow if you want to complete Mafia Wars New York.
Another great thing about Mafia Wars bodyguards is that when you are getting attacked a lot by another player, having a bodyguard can turn that around despite personal stats, mafia size, and equipment. First off, where do you get Mafia Wars bodyguards?
You can loot Mafia Wars bodyguards in the Hitman Job Tier on the Protect Your City from a Rival Family job. That’s one excellent thing about bodyguards…you can pick them up around level 18-24. The experience yield to energy cost on that job isn’t too bad either, so by all means get yourself some Mafia Wars bodyguards. You’ll put in 31 energy points and get 58 experience points – I like 1.87 ratios all day when I’m looking to level up fast.

The bad news is that Mafia Wars bodyguards are not guaranteed loot – they are “random” or “rare” loot. So you’ll only get them 10-20% of the times you do the job.
If you want to increase your chances of getting Mafia Wars bodyguards in the loot drop, then master the Hitman tier. You’ll have a 10% increase in loot drops for every job in Hitman once you’ve mastered the tier 3x.
You can get the Mafia Wars bodyguards by receiving them as a gift, too. Ask for them on your wishlist and canvas your high level players in your My Mafia. They may have spares or they may be ready to move on to bigger and better armor than Mafia Wars bodyguards. Be sure to be a good mafia member – help them out and answer their wishlist requests if you can. Never forget that reciprocity rules in Mafia Wars.

Okay, you gotta do something about that! Mafia Wars bodyguards are great armor, but nothing beats sound Mafia Wars fight strategy. Leveling up fast by allocating all your skill points to energy is great, but you’ll have to throw some points toward DEF if you’re getting targeted.
Whipping Boy Tips:
- Bank your money so you aren’t as tempting a target to upper level players looking for a whipping boy! Nothing says “target” like holding the take from your casino!
- Add your attacker to your mafia to stop the abuse. It may rankle a bit, but hey it’s better than the alternative.
- Don’t use the hitlist like a weapon. Better to use some mafia family muscle – ask the higher level players in your mafia to say hello to your little friend.
- Don’t report everyone who attacks you repeatedly to Facebook/Zynga for game abuse. If someone attacks you hundreds of times for weeks on end, then…maybe. But maybe you can handle this yourself through better game strategy!
