Mafia Wars Collections

And Mafia Wars Items

There is some confusion about the phrase Mafia Wars items.  I’ve seen people calling job loots like weapons, armor, or vehicles ”items” and I’ve heard people calling boosts “items.”  But for the purpose of this article, items are for Mafia Wars collections, capiche?

(If you want to hear more about job loot, see the article Mafia Wars Loot.)

Mafia Wars collections are, to me, a fun sideline in Mafia Wars.  You can’t build your whole game focus around the Mafia Wars items that make up the collections, but they fall into your lap as you go about mastering jobs and tiers.

Looking for Mafia Wars collections, loot lists, boosts, and more?

Get the Game References You Need!

When you check your Inventory page and look in the Collections & Vault tab, you’ll realize – ah ha! – you’ve got all seven Mafia Wars items required for one of the collections.  It’s ready to vault.  Vault it and you get a bonus – usually a permanent augmentation to your stats.  Vault a Mafia Wars collection a second time and you get a boost – a one-time use gadget that gives you a huge advantage – like +30 Attack in your next fight, or +30 defense against your next robbery.  So collections are great ways to give your game a little extra special something.

The Mafia Wars items you need for a collection can be found – sometimes – in loot drops on the jobs in the tier the collection is associated with.  For example, the Street Thug tier is associated with the Diamond Flush collection.  As you are doing the Street Thug jobs, you will sometimes get diamond cards in the loot drop.

To complete that Mafia Wars collection, you would continue to look for more diamond cards in Street Thug loot drops – not Hitman loot drops, see?

Another way to complete your Mafia Wars collections is through wishlist networking with your crew. Say you’ve got six of the seven Mafia Wars items for the Diamond Flush collection.  You are only missing the Queen of Diamonds.  Ask for it on your wishlist and someone on your crew may have a mess of them and give you one without blinking.  (If they’ve already vaulted the collection, the extras are pretty useless and giving them away is a smart way to build some good will among crew members.)  You can then re-vault your complete set and earn the bonus.

When you vault a completed Mafia Wars collections, you earn a one time bonus.  The bonus varies, but it is always a point(s) improvement for your personal stats.  The Diamond Flush collection bonus is +1 energy point, but the bonuses get better as you go up the tiers.  And the Cuban collection bonuses are really better than the NYC bonuses.

These are the Mafia Wars collections, their associated tiers, and the bonus you earn for vaulting the complete set of Mafia Wars items.

If you are having trouble finding one of the Mafia Wars items that completes a collection in the loot drops for that tier, you can do one of two things.

First, you should ask for it on your wishlist.  But if  none of your active crew can help you, try this weird tip.

Log off for ten minutes.  Then log back on and try a couple jobs in the tier.  Don’t ask me why, buy sometimes this helps me complete those stubborn Mafia Wars collections.  After logging back in,  I”ll do a tier job once or twice and then – bam – I’ll get that last item I was hoping for.

Maybe it’s a Zynga glitch, or just dumb luck, who knows?  But I’m not the only person who has luck with this particular trick for finding those difficult Mafia Wars items.  So give it a try!

And happy hunting!

If you’re tired of wondering where to find Mafia Wars items, equipment, and crew, you need to know what the top players know.
