Mafia Wars Cuba – Winning Big on the Little Island
If you are past level 35 I know you’ve either been to Mafia Wars Cuba or you are thinking about going there. And that’s a natural impulse. It is major fun to explore a new venue inside the game.
And maybe you’ve noticed that people with smaller mafias have been able to beat you in the NYC fight list when you should have had them dead to rights. And instead, up pop these weapons and armors that just leave you ‘outgunned’ over and over.
And it’s all coming from Mafia Wars Cuba!
Get the inside advice on dominating Mafia Wars Cuba here.
No doubt about it, there is some stuff worth having in Cuba. The weapon, armor, and vehicle loot is better than NYC. The Mafia Wars Cuba collections have more ooomph on the bonuses. And the list of Cuban achievements is very long.
You definitely want to go there.
So I know you don’t want to hear this, but I think you should wait until you’ve mastered NYC Boss tier.
I can hear you gnashing your teeth at me, but I’ve got two good reasons for this advice.
First, if you’ve been speed leveling with job-focused leveling strategy you will not be sufficiently beefed up on your personal stats to survive the fightlist in Mafia Wars Cuba. And dominating the fightlist in Cuba is critical, since fights are the best way to get money when you first arrive on the island.
If you pop over to Mafia Wars Cuba with a giant pool of energy and zip in ATT/DEF or stamina or health, you will get ‘outclassed’ and whooped religiously.
Second, before you go to Cuba, you need a large mafia. Give yourself time to have at least 200 in your crew. And that’s not really a big enough crew in Mafia Wars Cuba…it’s just over the “obvious target” mark.
Everyone in Cuba is at least level 35, so you won’t be able to find fresh meat to easily beat down. But you WILL be looking for easy wins, because everyone is desperate for cash and fighting is the easy way to get it in Mafia Wars Cuba. You’ll be up against a higher caliber of player and most of them will have a respectable crew.
So you’ll become the target if you’ve got the tiny mafia, because everyone is looking at the mafia size you’ve got when you’re south of Florida. (Gees, that sounds dirtier than I intended!)
Okay, if you’ve waited to go to Cuba, I’m impressed. ( Nobody takes my advice!)
When you get to Mafia Wars Cuba, you’ll get your first Cuban achievement just for stepping off the plane – Island Bound. Now if you’re not ready to be attacked or attack everyone in sight, turn around and go back to NYC!
You’ll find there is a long list of Cuban achievements to earn. You can get started right away on “Like a Hurricane” – awarded when you’ve won 1000 fights in Mafia Wars Cuba.
I’m telling you, pesos are thin on the ground and fighting is the best way to get funded when you first arrive. The early job tiers don’t yield squat in Mafia Wars money, so finding someone holding their pesos is the easy way to get started. And there’s no Mafia Mike’s – and no access to your NYC money! – to fund your early criminal exploits.
Because of the focus on fighting in Cuba, you’ll find your health stat is a lot more important all of the sudden. Watch your numbers. When you’re getting close to whacked, fly back to the States. You really don’t want to waste precious pesos in the Cuban hospital when healing up in NYC can be done with dollars that are a whole lot easier to earn.
Money is different in Mafia Wars Cuba. All that property and racket income is gone. Instead, you have Cuban businesses. There are six you can buy, and you can only buy one of each type of business. And there are three aspects of each business to “upgrade” in order to maximize your take. (The take is tallied every 3 hours in Cuba, BTW.)
Your goal will be to get product quality, capacity, and output to their highest possible upgrades in order to make the most money.
You might want to consider waiting to buy your businesses. Everyone rushes in and buys businesses right away in Mafia Wars Cuba. But my advice would be that you master the Cuban job tiers before you buy any businesses. Just bank your loot drop money religiously. In Mafia Wars Cuba, it’s worth it to pay the 10% fee rather than to hold wads of money.
That’s because holding your money is the same as flushing it down the toilet since everyone is looking for the sucker who is holding cash on the fightlist.
But when you master the job tiers first, you’ll pick up a lot of prime weapons and armor that will improve your fight strength. Plus the stat augmentation you’ll get from the Cuban collections will do you a lot of good for attack, defense, health, and stamina. You’ll have some cherry boosts to use. You’ll be able to use all your job and tier mastery skill points to reinforce your personal stats, as well. And the Cuban tier mastery bonuses are some of the best weapons, armor, and vehicles in Mafia Wars.
Basically, if you master the jobs in Mafia Wars Cuba, you’ll be a fightin’ machine.
Then, you go and buy businesses. And you’ll be able to defend your 3-hour take. Use the take to invest in upgrades for your businesses. Start with upgrading quality at all businesses you’ve got – that gets you the most money per item and is your most leveraged upgrade. Then work on upgrading output to the maximum of 280/3 hours. Then upgrade capacity to the 2240 maximum. You’ll be max-ed out on Cuban income in no time.
Of course, you won’t do it this way. I didn’t do it this way. I did it the hard way and got stripped of my pesos over and over in the fightlist. Duh! But I can see that this is the SMART way, now. If I hadn’t been holding the take from the Cuban businesses, then I wouldn’t have been worth targeting on the fightlist.
It’s when you have money that you get targeted. No money? The attacker moves on, usually. So the best Mafia Wars Cuban strategy is to FIRST do jobs, bank pesos, get all the prime loot, bonuses, and collection bonuses, and skill points.
Businesses come second, but you’ll be leveraged in no time and able to defend your take against all comers.
Sigh, hindsight is 20/20.
