Mafia Wars Money Management

When you begin playing Mafia Wars money may seem like an aspect of the game that takes care of itself.  You’re busy juggling your stats, growing your mafia, running the jobs in your tier and trying to find the good loot.

Sure, you got a Louie’s Deli and a Mafia Mike’s.  They sit there and bring in Mafia Wars money.  And you make some small change on the jobs in the Street Thug and Associate tier.  Nobody robs you (except in fights) and you are going along fine.

Then one day, your upkeep exceeds your income.

Hey!  Now that Mafia Wars money stuff seems a whole lot more important, right?  Not to worry.  This three part article series has the basics.

Getting your Mafia Wars money rolling is something you can do fast!

Be A Money Master in Mafia Wars

So, the basics:

Currently, in NYC, properties earn you money.  (Ugh, Zynga keeps threatening to replace properties with racketeering, but so far no dice.)  And since Feb 2009 when Zynga added property upkeep to the mix, they cost a bit to maintain.  Vehicles, weapons, and armor also cost you money – that’s upkeep, too.

You’ll need to earn more Mafia Wars money than you spend.

If you’re in the red, the first thing you can do is trim your vehicles, weapons, and armor.  Keep the best vehicles, weapons, and armor you’ve got for the number of family members you have.  Each family member needs one of each.  I guess no one car pools in the Mafia Wars.

(There is no need to have more than 501 weapons, unless you are super advanced and keep 501 ATT  and 501 DEF, in which case WOW you so don’t need this article LOL.)

If you have more than one of each equipment for each member, you can dispose of extras if you are really short on Mafia Wars money.  Keep the best stuff you can afford to upkeep.

That tip should cut your costs.

To continue to control upkeep, every time you loot, rob, or fight and win a weapon, armor, or vehicle, get rid of the weakest equipment in your Mafia Wars equipment locker.  Or, if you are really struggling with money, dump the items that are expensive to upkeep.  For example, a cargo plane is a great vehicle, but it’s got killer upkeep.  Ditch it if you are in the red and pick up another one once you’ve got some cash flowing.

Meanwhile, your properties are making Mafia Wars money.  To get the most out of them, be sure to take your “take” every 24 hours.  If there is “Current Take” available, then you should take it!  Watch the “Next Production Ready” tab so you know when the next take will be ready.

And really watch Production Capacity, so you don’t miss your “take” maxing out.  If you miss Production Capacity, your take gradually decreases to 0 and you will have to reactivate your properties.

Worst thing you can do is to not take your take because you fail to click on the “Collect Take.”  Don’t leave your money on the table.
